Six months later... now what?
Join us for July's Monthly 60 Meetup!
A few weeks ago I was cleaning out my office when I found a notebook from January.
You know the one.
The page full of ambitious goals, color-coded priorities, and declarations like "This is the year I'll finally..."
Some of them happened.
Some of them absolutely did not.
And some of them changed completely because life had other ideas.
It got me thinking...
We spend so much time planning the beginning of the year.
We spend almost no time checking in halfway through.
Instead, we just...keep sprinting.
Another meeting.
Another project.
Another fire.
Another "I'll think about that later."
Then suddenly it's December and we're wondering where the year went.
So this month's The Monthly 60 is a little different.
Instead of talking about another model or framework, we're taking one hour to do something that might actually be more valuable.
We're going to stop.
Here's what we've got planned.
We'll start the way we always do: networking.
Some of my favorite parts of The Monthly 60 happen before we ever get into the topic. People swap ideas, compare notes, vent about work, celebrate wins, and occasionally realize they've been trying to solve the exact same problem.
After that, we'll hear from two organizations I think you'll genuinely enjoy meeting.
Our friends from WellSaid Labs and Continuity Intelligence are joining us to share opportunities and resources that fit perfectly with the idea of investing in yourself during the second half of the year.
Then we'll get into the main event.
We're going to work through a reflection exercise inspired by a fantastic template from Ness Labs.
The questions we'll tackle include things like:
- What have you spent way too much energy on this year?
- What's one decision you're really glad you made?
- What's something you should probably stop doing?
- What deserves more of your attention?
- If January You met July You...what would be surprising?
My hope is that everyone leaves with something a little more useful than a page of notes.
A clearer direction.
Maybe one small change.
Maybe permission to let something go.
Maybe an idea you steal from someone else's sticky note.
Honestly, that's happened more than once.
If this is your first Monthly 60, welcome.
This community exists for people who care about learning, helping other humans grow, and occasionally questioning why every software update somehow requires three new training courses.
Here's how we work.
We start on time.
We end on time.
We use Mural so everyone can contribute, whether you love talking or would rather let your sticky notes do the heavy lifting.
If you've never opened Mural before, don't worry. You'll be a pro in about five minutes, and there are always people willing to help.

One last thing.
One hour isn't going to change your career.
But it might change the next decision you make.
And if there's one thing I've learned, it's that careers usually don't change because of one giant leap.
They change because of hundreds of small decisions made just a little more intentionally.
I'd love to spend one of those hours with you.
See you Friday.
